I use this on my 2003 Passat 1.8T probably every 2-3 oil changes. Motor has 269,000 miles and burns a smidgen of oil on startup. The Lucas seems to help a bit.

Used it for years in high mileage motors. 215,000 on a 1.8 turbo VW
used no oil between 5,000 mile changes.
Ok, so here’s my anecdote: a friend of mine had an old Ranger that had an oil pump failing. He didn’t want to pay me or anyone else to pull the engine and replace the pump so I suggested he just throw a bottle of this in there and see what happens.
Well, his oil light went off and oil pressure improved.
Oh, All the VWII calipers from 80-84 in the Lucas catalog used the same piston seals, pins and pin slider kits.
Lucas. I can't prove it works with data... But I've felt the difference. I swear by the stuff.
Lucas tool oil is great.
Got the alternator replaced with a non-OEM one for £564. Batteries where tested and where fine so its likely this alternator could of been failing for some time.
I'm using Castrol Edge (or whatever) full synthetic 5w40 + about 250mL of Lucas engine oil additive (that stuff has done amazing things for other high-mileage engines I've had in the past).
Right now I have an intermittent problem on my Range Rover, darn alternator works when cold, voltage rises to 18 when hot.
it was D E D dead.
