Maganda ang ride ng Mazda. Pero they placed themselves as as luxury car brand. A friend has an 8-year old 3. Kelangan na palitan ng suspension. She was quoted just under 40K sa casa. Just for shocks replacement.
Mazda3 is great except the terrible shocks/ride quality. Easily a D grade.
Our 2013 Mazda 3 has been BULLETPROOF reliable for 185k miles. Never been in the shop once for any reason. Other than normal disposables, I've replaced the shocks at 180k, both front wheel bearings at 150k, and a MAF sensor around 160k. All easy DIY jobs. Also did a serpentine belt/tensioner at 160k. Other than that, just fluids and tires/brakes.
I had a 2010 for nearly 6 years. 3 sets of rear shocks in that time. Otherwise it was perfect.
I had a 2009. I replaced the rear shocks, they were gone by 50K.
They eat shocks, brakes and sway bar bushings/links.
Watch for worn front suspension parts and rear shocks.
