I recently switched to Michelin Defender 2 tires. Every month I record a monthly average efficiency. Compared to last year I have lost about 10% efficiency.

I have this issue with Michelin Defender tires. Brand new set. Rebalanced 4 times at 3 different shops and an alignment and just feel so unsteady on them. Also feel like I notice every imperfection in the road.
The MPG drop is real, my Camry lost about 2-3mpg but they’re silly grippy. Definitely noisy and absolutely not a soft riding tire.
You'll never find a better all around tire. Sure some tires will corner better or handle puddling better but for every condition (which most of us see) they're the best. I've owned them all and for towing 12,000 lbs on and slightly off road I trust Michelins.
For tires, just buy brands that don't spend over 50% of their budget on sponsorship and advertising like Michelin, Pirelli etc...
At Walmart, was $900 for all 4 tires (22 inch rims) balanced and mounted.
I will say after installing diff and subframe bushings, there is a marked difference in cold weather performance on these tires. The car likes to step out a lot more readily. With stock bushings, the difference shouldn't be that exaggerated, but there is a difference in performance on cold Pilots.
I recently got these (21") for my R1T, around 2,000km on them so far. Much better traction, slightly better range, quieter and smoother drive. Depending where you are, they are not winter tires. I'm in Nova Scotia, Canada, and still slide left/right in slushy snow in all purpose mode while driving half the speed limit.
Had two sets of stock the 21” tires. Wasn’t impressed with wear life at all. Have a bit over 6k on my new Michelins and they barely show any wear. Gen1 R1T quad motor is what they are on.
Great experience. Ride is a little quieter, Michelins are great on snow and ice, no perceptible change in range for me at least. Almost 2k total after certs that’s the only thing I don’t like. 31k miles on the pirellis about 5k in on the new Michelins. I drive a gen1 R1T quad.
but tbh michelin is the top brand for a reason, i’ve seen them last for literally 100k miles
