My changes have generally been religious at 5k and that didn’t save my GTI from losing compression in cyl3 at 37k untuned miles it suffered 15% leakdown vs the other 3. That car got M1 0w-40, tried and true stuff, so you just never know.

Pros: tried and true stuff

Tengo un Vento 2.0 TSI gen3 que cuando lo compré usaba Elaion F50 sintético 10w40 y lo consumía. Cambié a Mobil 1 FS 0w40 y no consume más...

5w40 if its drinking oil during vtec, I usually use Mobil but get whatever cheapest

I used to do Motorcraft 5w20 but I ended up switching to Mobil 1. It just performed better in the car and made the engine run smoother and quieter.

Our engines were originally designed for 5W30, so that's what I use. Namely Mobil 1 High Mileage.

I have a 22 Tiguan and did the first oil change myself around 5K miles. This is what I ended up using. I found it locally so that was a plus, Mobil 1™ ESP X2 0W-20 .

Pros: found it locally

Been using Mobil 1 for over 20 years. Never had any issues.

Pros: no issues for years

Mobil1. I use 10w30 in the Texas summer heat and 5w30 in the winter. 2006 c280 with 185k

Pros: good for summer heat

Cons: seasonal viscosity change

Exhaust smoke:

Mobil 1 extended oil. Full synthetic 5W30 changed every 12,000km. Mine burns about 1 litre (pint) per every 1,500-2,000km. So I top up a few times between full on oil changes

Pros: full synthetic

Cons: burns oil
