OEM Volkswagen Flywheel

Owned an 06 Rabbit, 2.5, auto, for 8 years. 90k to 230k, and wouldn\u2019t hesitate to own another. Dual mass flywheels, vac pump leaks (autos), and valve bodies are the Achilles, otherwise these are solid.

Pros: solid, reliable
Cons: vac pump leaks
Vehicle: Volkswagen

OEM Volkswagen Flywheel

Jaocobpossibly, great post and information. I was able to use your information and links to figure out what to do about my flywheel clutch on my AZG! Well, sort of anyway...now, at least I know that I too have a 215mm set up. My flywheel is an 068105271, and I have been unable to find one, or any information on it. I finally found out that it was replaced by 038105269 in 2006, so that explains it. I've been searching for clutch options for this for a while, and now I at least know what will be an oem style replacement. I also have a single mass flywheel in my 2001 wagon 2.0. Thanks for posting that information!!!

Pros: oem style replacement
Vehicle: Volkswagen Jetta

  • Shift smoothness:

Apparently my flywheel crapped out. The tech said it has excessive play. The clutch pedal is a little stiffer, which is probably a good thing.

Pros: stiffer clutch pedal
Cons: excessive play
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 46500 km

OEM Volkswagen Flywheel

Clutch- flywheel from a corrado g60 or Passat 16v -disc and pressure plate from above mentioned or corrado vr or passat vr or mk3 vr You cannot use a vr flywheel because it has 10 bolt holes vs 6 bolt hole to mount it to the crank Unless you are making big power just get an oem type clutch.

Pros: get an oem type clutch
Vehicle: Volkswagen Corrado

  • Shudder:

Apparently it's the flywheel and there's an updated part from VW. As you guys mentioned the 'hoot'/shriek/creak/grind happens when there's load, ie. having more than one passenger, going uphill, reversing, etc..

Pros: updated part available
Cons: hoot, shriek, creak, grind
Vehicle: Volkswagen Passat
Mileage: 12000 km
