Seems to be doing the trick with fogging and the cold although not had really freezing temperatures here yet (I'm in the north of the UK)
Reviews of rainx rain repellent
Also buy a bottle of Rain-X and apply it - that stuff is magic even in horrendous downpours.
Rain X works fine if you clean the windshield good before applying it. If the glass is properly treated, wipers are not needed...they actually shorten the Rain X treatment period from ~3 months to about 40 days. Leave those damn wipers off!
I have had nothing but good experience with Rain-X. Your windshield may not have been clean enough prior to application. Streaking can sometimes be seen with newer wiper blades if they are not clean and still have mold release on them.
rain-x is good. Heck the VW wsher concentrate has that Rain-X like stuff in it also
I will say this about RainX, like most things, it used to be a better quality product as it lasted much longer between applications.
I have been using Rain X for 7-8 yrs and also have noticed right after it is applied, the glass has alot of streaks, but I usually apply it prior to washing the vehicle. No problems once it's clean.
RainX actually degrades your wiper blade. I used it on my x-Jetta and my blades went and started to chatter.
I have used RainX for as log as I can remember and probably even before that (something like 20+ years maybe?). I have never had problem w/ streaks; then again, I use the RainX often enough that I don’t use the wipers as the water beads-off @ ~25mph.
Made the mistake of putting it on my windshield..... now everytime the wipers go, the god damn crap makes streaks alll over the windshield which makes things super -unvisable.
