And the adjustable 9000 series are so stiff even on the softest settings. Had them for a while on my E-350 shuttle bus which weighs in just under 10k lbs.

Ride quality isn’t noticeably different. Bilstein or Fox are great upgrades for the stock rancho badged shocks either way.
I love my rancho 5000s but used bilstiens on bigger trucks in the past and those do their job well still
I got some Ranchos on my 88 which have been great so far. Had them about 2 years, but I don’t go off-road, or at least hardcore anyway. They’re nice and firm
Those factory Ranchos are terrible. They are stiff as heck.
I'm really happy with them. They have eight adjustable settings both the front and the rear for preload and dampening. Otherwise my feelings about the Rancho shocks have been very favorable and the ride quality is at least equal to original factory with some adjustability for when I want to tow or go off-road and I like that.
I haven't really been impressed with the RS500x. Better than Rough Country but not by much.
Pass on Rancho. I did a full set of them 4 years ago. Shop I had them done through is no longer in business. Even with receipts and invoices Rancho refuses to honor their warranty.
They are shit shocks anyways and should be replaced with bilstein 5100s as soon as possible.
Man I don’t know how Rancho started being marketed as a desirable shock. They used to be cheap autozone replacement stuff. I had a ZR-2 Blazer years ago that came with factory Bilsteins, when they were worn out and shot I replaced them with Ranchos… I should have just left the blown Bilsteins on lol.
