I had two windshield cracks before I reached 20k miles.

For me it is incredibly durable. There are hundred of chips on my Model 3 windshield with 53k miles due to freeway driving most of the time, but it is still not cracked yet.

I definitely have numerous chips. I thought maybe it was the aerodynamics of the Model S, but it might be the glass.

I got a brand new windshield on my M3 for $100. My insurance took care of the rest. I went through Tesla because I didn’t want to be dealing with this same exact BS that they are trying to run on you.

Model3 in San Diego. Got it replaced and calibrated by Tesla service for $943.
I went with Tesla and was glad - they did the camera calibration and mobile tech came out a few days later to fix moisture issue. Also, sounds silly, but installed the windshield straight.

They have to use Tesla OEM so it’s going to be a bit.
The original windshield on my 2018 Model 3 chipped, cracked and.had to be replaced within a year. Never had to do that with other vehicles and I baby this thing.
