Just had mine replaced under the plan, 2022 model Y performance. I had paid three months of premiums and was quoted right around $1500 for a small Chip that had started to spread.
Still an amazing deal for me given that I live in Texas and am insured through GEICO.
I had my 2025 m3 just a couple of weeks, got two Rick chips, went to Tesla to have them fixed. Instead of fixing them, they just replaced the whole damn windshield.
In the first month that I got my 2025 M3P the windshield got hit by a rock that flew off of a truck going the opposite direction. The windshield had to be replaced.
I pay five dollars a month for windshield protection with my insurance. I’ve already replaced my windshield twice on my Tesla. Hundred percent covered zero co-pay.
It’s been almost a week now and it drives like a dream.
My Model Y 2026 became sorta like this so I used a razor and I was able to scrape some. And I used a microscope to see what it was and couldn’t figure out what it was.
Turns out it was tiny particles of microfiber being stuck due to static and it was very difficult to get off, because it isn’t glue or just sitting there, but stuck there by static electricity. U can’t feel it, and can’t wipe off with ur finger.
I used monitor cleaning spray because they have anti-static stuff on it. Then used Invisible Glass. And they came off.
Not on my 2021 Model 3.
I have this on my 2020 MS but it happened after I drove in a windstorm in Arizona. It’s pitting. Unfortunately not quite bad enough to get a new windshield.
