Just for grins, I plugged the CTEK in overnight and by the next morning, it fired right up.
Owner reviews for battery charger
Comfort battery charged up. Starter battery didn't take much time to charge. I really like this charger and it seems to be getting great reviews. It has a number of different modes it automatically works in depending on what it senses from the battery and how long you leave it plugged in for. It's really small... it has an AGM mode... it has a high capacity starting mode...
On the 3.2 A3 i fitted a quick disconnect to the battery, refitted the 6 million bolts on the battery plate and now i can connect and disconnect the charger in seconds. I use a CTEK XS 4003 Had the A3 for around 6 months now and it's on charge at least 2 days a week, no problems so far.
I picked up a Peak 2 amp charger a while back, pulled the battery out of my Scirocco while it's hibernating and stuck it in the basement. Usually I don't charge it while it's out (5 year old Interstate, NEVER needed a jump or charge), it's never needed a boost when it's time to get it going in the spring, but I did this year. I got it cheap over the summer, we'll see how it works. I don't forsee any problems.
I have one of these on each of my cars. CTEK 7002
I use a CTEK 3300. I've had no issues with it for the past 3 years.
I know everyone uses CTEK... I have one myself too (I got tons of electronic battery chargers)... I got the 4.3 version and I used it to charge a battery that was a bit low but still has 12.0V charge... in a couple of hours, the charger was so hot that I discontinued using it on car battery for any heavy duty charging purpose.
