I hit 213k miles on my 2013 accent today on my commute. Only thing I’ve had to replace other than routine maintenance was a catalytic converter in 2021.

03 4Runner 286K only been serviced twice but I take great care of it. Catalytic converters went out causing miss fires has been my biggest problem.
Recently did the secondary air system cleaning, PCV, belts, hoses, water pump, thermostat, coils, and plugs. Both cats have broken at the exhaust flange, but I simply welded those back (dealer wanted $2300 for a new one).
I replaced the cats at 190k at 225k I replaced all 4 brake calipers it didn’t need the rears but since I was doing the front I did them all and replaced the rear axle seals at the same time.
I have a 2003 Camry with 220k miles on it. My front cat was throwing a P0420 code (what the hell has it been smoking??) for the better part of the year and I finally changed it last month because my emissions inspection was due.
It cost me about $975 installed, but the most shocking thing to me was that my overall gas mileage went from 25 to 30.
My cats got stolen so I replaced them myself and had to custom weld the exhaust.
Catalytic converter will sound like a rattling underneath the car towards the rear.
Catalytic converter. They suck on Hyundai. You’re probably also noticing poor gas mileage or shit acceleration.
the older Kia cats were garbage, Ive replaced hundreds of 0420 cats under a recall on Souls.
It blew my catalytic converter and was on the road to a dead engine after Kia paid thousands in warranty repairs to not fix the engine.
