Sachs Clutch kit

I’m in the middle of doing mine on my JK myself. I forget my mileage, under 100k. I wheel a little bit and plow my own driveway, so that may have contributed.

Like another commenter said, putting a new clutch in is easy. Getting access to it is a decently painful, though.

I got a Sachs clutch kit from RockAuto for about $200, the OEM one I pulled out said Sachs too, so I had some peace of mind that I’m at or near OEM quality for half the price (MOPAR parts were $500 from RockAuto). Kit comes with clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, and pilot bearing.

Pros: OEM quality, half price
Vehicle: Jeep Wrangler
Mileage: 100000 km

Luk Clutch kit

Throwout bearing on my 2000 TJ blew at 195k, but there was probably 50-80k left on the clutch plate. My last XJ was over 240k and had zero issues (different transmission but I believe the plates were similar).

You don't mention the year of your Wrangler, but my full LuK clutch kit was $135, got a cheap transmission jack from Harbor Freight for $80, had to order a new clutch fork clip for $2.50, that was it.

Vehicle: Jeep Wrangler
Mileage: 195000 km

VALEO Clutch kit

Valeo HD 100% is the only option you should consider based on your driving habits. It can hold more power than stock, and won’t cause the annoying rattles a single mass flywheel setup will cause.

Pros: holds more power, no rattles
Vehicle: Hyundai Genesis Coupe

Needed a clutch after 100k miles in my 2016… went all-in… Exedy clutch kit, flywheel kit, Subaru slave, Torque Solutions fork and pivot, Subaru rear engine seal and Perrin clutch hose…. 12k miles since & I’m still amazed how much better it feels…

Pros: much better feel
Vehicle: Subaru
Mileage: 12000 km

Exedy Clutch kit

Buy oem. Go on any rotary vender (atkins, mazdatrix) and order oem exedy #1007 I think . I tried saving money ordered from ebay but pilot and release/ throwout bearing was wrong and cost me more in long run. Exedy stage 1 has throwout bearing issues apparently. If you want a slight upgrade, buy the oem exedy s2 rx8 clutch kit.

Pros: OEM reliable
Cons: wrong bearings, throwout bearing issues
Vehicle: Mazda
Part number: 1007

Exedy Clutch kit

I bought the correct clutch kit offered on OIWA (to generation and model) which is ACTY HA4. On the OIWA website and even the Exedy website, it was described as the proper kit to replace my models clutch, but when I pulled out the OEM clutch and compared it to the replacement, it was much smaller??? Now I’m afraid that I won’t get even close to the amount of life out of that clutch that I want since around 1/8-3/16 of an inch of the clutch is not even making contact with the flywheel…

Cons: smaller than OEM, incomplete contact, concern about lifespan
Vehicle: Honda Acty
