One additional benefit is that the Duralast Coils have a free replacement for life. FWIW I put about 4 coils on my old 2007 and never had one fail over the course of 5 years and ~50k miles.
I bought the Bosch 4 yr and 10k miles ago and haven't had issues.
I went to Autozone and purchased a set of Duralast Ignition coils for $300, swapped all 4 and the car idled as good as new. I don't know if the Duralast coils will last very long, but they do have a no questions asked lifetime warranty so I can just get them replaced everytime it goes out.
I've switched from standard to the Bosch ones last summer and it significantly improved the acceleration on my 124 Abarth. Prior to the switch I'd see lots of misfires and "bumps" in the power delivery curve. The Bosch set was not a hard sale with being under 280€/260$ here in CZ. Highly recommended for anyone with power mods.
R8 coil packs definitely work better IF you’re tuned.
I have OEM Bremi coil pack now. the original Bremi OEM coil went 15+ years and survived 1 OEM cat and 2 magnaflow cats.
So I replaced the coils with MSD packs, and tossed in fresh plugs, even though the old ones were less than 10k miles in. This seemed to fix the issue for a while, but it ended up coming back.
As stated APR coils are know to not be as good as OE/OEM. I have seen a lot of people with APR coils chasing misfires and the replace with OEM and it’s fixed. Even with new APR this has happened.
OEM was like $70 per coil! Ripoff.
