I had one just like that! Two door, same color, my first manual transmission car. It did great donuts in the snow and mud! Yeah,I put that little thing through hell!
Our 04 Jetta TDI is still running great and doing its thing. We did swap it to a manual transmission which is actually fairly straight forward with these vehicles too.
I was lucky enough to get a 2023 6 speed manual transmission and I am love it...

My jeep is manual. Zero ergonomic issues.
The MT is a solid choice. I love my 2019 OR MT. I wouldn't trade it for any automatic vehicle.
Admittedly not great in a stop & go commute, but I work from home now and working the gears are just wonderful.
I had an ‘88 I inherited from my dad that went to almost 480k miles until I tore up the transmission.
the Toyota aisin manual transmission shifts like a bag of fucking rocks.
