NGK Spark plug
Craig380
Rating 5.0
  • Starting:

I ***always*** use NGK spark plugs after I tried a set of Champion plugs in my old GT380, and two of them failed after 1,500 miles. NGKs have never let me down in 35+ years of riding.

Pros: never let me down
Cons: Champion plugs failed
Vehicle: Suzuki
Mileage: 1500 km

NGK Spark plug

Checked spark plugs. The plug is an NGK BP6ES for those that might want to know. This is #4 plug, other 3 in similar condition. Would seem to indicate over fueling, or misfire condition across all 4 cylinders...

Cons: over fueling, misfire
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Part number: BP6ES

BERU Spark plug
Mecka20000
Rating 5.0
  • Acceleration:

Yup, these are great. Just be sure you gap them to APR's recommended gap of 0.024" ±0.002" or 0.6mm ±0.05mm. If you want 1 step colder plugs, not needed on your setup, but if you do for the future in Stage 2+. For 10$ more than the OEM NGK you can get the BERU.

Pros: great, step colder plugs

Autolite Spark plug

These are Autolite plugs, not Motorcraft. Which means the plugs in this vehicle have been changed before, that probably has a little to do with why it was easier than usual to get these out. By the looks of the plugs and the lack of carbon buildup and corrosion (the two factors that cause these plugs to size the most) I'd say they weren't in there for a very long time either. Going by my experience with Autolite plugs in Fords (very little experience as I work on Euros mostly) if they don't start misfiring right away it's usually within a couple of months.

Pros: lack of carbon buildup
Cons: misfiring within months
