Ditch these plugs and pick up some NGK's gapped to .028 and your misfires should go away. If the misfires are still present, start looking over your coil harness with a fine tooth comb and look for any cracks.

Usually the rule of thumb i've seen is the more expensive plug you use in your vrt, the ****tier its gonna run. NGK BKR7E's gapped to .022 and mine runs grand.
Sounds like it could be a spark plug. For some reason the Prelude likes to eat through them. Shows the exact same symptoms you describe (loss of power, different exhaust note).
Last night I finally decided to trash the bosch spark plugs and installed some new NGK spark plugs and while I had my upper intake manifold off I bought a couple cans of throttle body cleaner and gave my upper intake manifold out and also gave my throttle body a real good clean. It was covered in sludge. But anyways after I sea foamed it a couple weeks ago, changed the oil and filter, spark plugs and cleaned the throttle body last night my car is running like a champ and doesn't feel boggy anymore.
im driving a mk4 1.8t just had unitronic 1+ tune done last saturday car is still running good and havent even gotten colder sparks in yet. i bought ngk bkr7e plugs, one step colder.
I can't tell you how many times I get techs at my counter showing me fouled aftermarket plugs from these cars. Nothing works better than the OE plug with these cars. We have a 993 TT with a pair of K24's on it that will destroy anything but a factory plug. Just put in the OE plug and ignore anything else when it comes to your Boxster.
As for your plugs, bosch is deff the recommended brand, but just about any high quality plug designed for your engine will work fine. (im currently running platinum in mine, and their fine, but lots of people have reported idel issues with them.) The motor was designed around a copper plug, so thats what it should run on best. so bosch copper is deff the way to go.
Autolites last as long for me as the NGK's. Either of them last about 10k miles for me. Any longer than that and I start getting missfires. The Autolites can be found for about $1.00 each
The NGK's listed have a colder heat range. Great in the summer, it will misfire like crazy in the winter
this summer I switched from oem to platinum bosch plugs and just recently took to dealer and had plugs changed as they said the platinum plugs in fsi engine will cause some fuel to not burn properly.
