Nokia Tires

I have the Nokian WRG3 tires on my car and they outperform many of the winter tires I've owned in the past.

Pros: outperform many winter tires

Nokia Tires

I have the WRG3's and I'm sooo happy with my decision. I love them and would buy them again in a heartbeat. They seem perfectly suited to the Chicago winter's I face. As I mentioned in your other thread, my wife has the Toyo Celcius on her SUV and those have been great too.

Pros: very happy, love them, perfectly suited

Cooper Tires

Running 30.9" Cooper A/T3-4S (235/75R17) on 17x8" rims AND a 1.5" lift I wish I had gone bigger on my tires

Pros: running Cooper A/T3-4S
Cons: wish I had gone bigger
Vehicle: Volkswagen

Nokia Tires

I've ran Nokian several times and have always found to be decent. I see them as a "winter tire" that is usable in the summer months which works well for Canadian climate where I live.

Pros: decent, usable in summer

MICHELIN Tires

I purchased a set of X-Ice for my old Audi A6 years ago and had great tire life - over 8 winters - and still only half worn when I sold the car with 144,000 miles on it. Super traction on Ice - Packed Snow - and every day cold weather wet driving in Seattle. Took a trip in CA national parks in December and never got stuck. So when I got my Alltrack SEL - I saved the 17 inch wheels from my Buyback TDI - and bought another set of Michelin X-Ice to fit the 17's and though only driven one winter I think they are great. They are not noisy and a great ride - better then the Conti's on 18 inch Wheels actually.

Pros: great tire life, super traction, not noisy, great ride
Vehicle: Audi A6
Mileage: 231745 km

MICHELIN Tires

I own a rwd lowered coupe, drove it all winter last year and bought Michelin x ice tires, had no issues. As long as you're a decent winter driver and have good winter tires you'll be fine.

Pros: no issues

MICHELIN Tires

Definitely winters for a RWD, I had a RWD 335i with X-Ice 3 and I never had an issue with tires. The only problem I had with snow was my car basically plowing the streets because it was so low.

Pros: no issue with tires
Cons: car plowed streets
Vehicle: BMW

Nokia Tires

I have a RWD car and run Nokian WRGs in the winter (I swap to some regular all-season tires in the summer).

Overall, the Nokians are a great tire. The only problem I've had is the entrances to the Bonnie Doon traffic circle where the ice gets polished to a mirror finish and makes it near impossible to get started. This is literally the only place in the city where I've had this problem though.

Pros: great tire
Cons: problem on polished ice

Pirelli Tires

  • Ride comfort:

Thursday was not a good day for one of my Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3 tires. On the way to work a pothole got my front right side tire...When I got home I notice a nick in the rim, but not the damage to the tire...Called Tirerack, since I have the road hazard coverage and filed a claim.

Pros: road hazard coverage
Cons: tire no longer in stock

I have some Nexen tires on a Kia Optima and all four are "out of round" with only 17k Miles. Like riding on square block. Crappy tires!

Pros: null
Cons: out of round, crappy
Vehicle: Kia Optima
Mileage: 17000 km
