I have the Toyo open country atiii on my ‘21 sport, and they handle the socal freeways pretty good for commuting and have been great in the rain we had recently. I did drop about 5-10mpg on ny mpg average.
My 2008 is350 on continental Dw06 extreme sport runs like a dream
I have Nitto Nomad Grapplers on mine and really like them.
Putting Cross Climate 2’s on was one of the best decisions ever. Wet, dry, snow or sun… doesn’t matter - these tires continue to impress.
I live in Chicago, so we get some good cold and winter conditions. I recently put Continental DWS06+ on my Giulia, they were great in the late summer, and have been great in the snow as well. I highly recommend them after a few months of use.
I just went through the same thing and ended up picking the wildpeaks. In my size i could only get E rated KO3s, and didnt want to go that heavy. I havent gotten out yet so cant speak to that, but on the road they dont feel much different to the OEM trailhunter tires. I actually think maybe a little worse in wet, but not to the point of being an issue (and its been pretty wet where im at)
Consumer reports says:
Pros: Solid performance in the areas of dry braking, handling, hydroplaning resistance. Solid treadlife performance also.
Cons: Just average rolling resistance performance which can have a negative impact on vehicle fuel efficiency.
I've been selling tires for two decades and I've never driven on a set of X-Ice tires I've liked. Continental Viking Contact 7 & 8's are great, as well as Bridgestone Blizzaks, have always performed better in my opinion.
Yeah kumho ecsta on my car and lasted roughly 15k miles. Won’t be going with them again
