Hey I know this thread is old, but I just discovered Hakkapeliittas and I'm planning to get those for next winter (start saving now). Just wondering is it still good without the studs? I live in Calgary Alberta.

I replace the Michelin at 20K (completely bald and dead) with Nokian Tyres One and have no complaints. They actually netted me better wh/mi by 10 wh/mi and is rated for 80k wear. How long that will last on a Tesla is yet to be seen. So far 5K in it 's still at 95% which compare to the Michelin would of been at 75%
New tires: Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 - These have a slightly higher score and are cheaper than the Pilot Sport 4S so I thought I'd give them a try.
I have the Goodyear Assurance tires! I got them on sale at Walmart and they are just incredible.
Milked everything I could from my OEM tires then upgraded to cross climate 2s.
The Subaru left the dealership with Nokian Outpost APT tires on it . These tires can be left on all year and meet DOT specs for winter use. Anyway, I've been driving on Nokian All Weather tires for about 20 years now on different cars for a total of 300,000 to 400,000 Km in all kinds of weather and they performed exceptionally well. The advantage is you always have the right tires no matter what the weather.
The Michelins are great. I love mine. The Goodyear tires sucked when I had them.
Goodyear is definitely not as good as they used to be. Their tires are on the lower end side now and their prices reflect that.
Wasn't my experience at all. About six months ago I replaced the OEM Geolanders on my 2018 Crosstrek with CrossClimate 2 tires. By the time drove 15 minutes home I knew that there I didn't like what I was experiencing with the CrossClimates. They were noisier, jittery, mushy and didn't track like the Geolanders. I wrote it off as being new. They did an alignment and wheel balance during installation. I am not an aggressive driver but the interstate on ramp that I use all the time I could enter at 50mph and stay at 50. I had to brake use the Michelins. Also I lost 3 mpg compared to the Geolanders.
Stock GT tires, slick and treaded, are horrendous. Incredibly hard compound. Don't hesitate to upgrade.
