They put in a Pilkington windshield and calibrated everything for about $700.00. Everything works as it should, the HUD is clear but seems to be a a very slight angle compared to the OEM glass.
Owner reviews for windshield
I replaced the windshield in my 2022 for $350 all said and done. 3rd party installer outside of Atlanta used Pilkington glass and did not need to recalibrate the Eyesight system. I’ve been driving with the new glass for two months now and have had no issues.
We’re on our 4th windshield for a ‘22 OBW. The third window, about 6 weeks after that, we switched to Pilkington and that’s lasted about 70k miles - so far. It has a bunch of pings that we think would have done in an OEM.
I ended up finding a shop on Yelp that does calibration for $20 on top of the windshield, which was a Sisecam brand. I think they’re oem source for BMWs. It does look thicker. But good quality and no corner distortions.
The OEM glass is nothing special to begin with. I noticed waves and/or imperfections with just about ALL the CRV's when I bought mine (23)...mine included.
I’m on my fourth.
Had to replace my stock windshield a few years ago due to a tiny rock thrown, and this was after having another chip repaired too. Paid for an actual OEM replacement out of pocket vs. aftermarket and had SafeLite install.
My windshield cracked last week smh
I just got a Subaru Crosstrek 2019 and literally over the week a 3 inch barely noticeable crack appeared on my windshield. The crack came out of no where, wasn’t there on Thursday and is there now, noticed it Sunday :/
We had a '16 Forester XT and went through like 4 or 5 windshields in 7 years before we sold it. At one point we didn't even get the tape off the prior install and it broke again from highway rocks. It was ridiculous.
