My first two windshields were Carlex brand, and they were trash. Both chipped multiple times from minor rock chips that ended up spiderwebbing even after repair. Anything has to be better than Carlex.
My 3rd and current windshield is Pilkington and so far seems great. Shrugged off a pretty nasty rock hit with barely a scuff.

I had two appointments with Safelite. First time they brought the wrong windshield and 2nd appointment the windshield they brought was broken. I wound up going with a local auto glass place and replaced it with ppg glass and it was fine.
