Your best bet would be to get an OEM seal from Europe, I put in a new seal and PPG windshield and have a perfect fit.

I went through that a few weeks ago with my jetta, old windshield was pitted and stone chipped so bad I could barely see driving at dusk or dawn. Seal was all shrunken and old letting lots of water in.
Pros: no leaks, no haze

On my own cars, I go with PPG glass. I get a new windshield every year on my vehicles. Never had leaks or reworks. Make sure they remove all of the old seal.

I had to replace the windshield on my '06 last month. I went to Elite auto glass here in the Denver area. They put in a PPG windshield. PPG is one of the biggest names in automotive glass... so I was not concerned. It came with the appropriate equipment for the rain sensor. It cost me 260-bucks out the door and it was done. They did a very nice job. They even knew about the \"special issues\" with the adhesive. Couldn't be happier.

I had two appointments with Safelite. First time they brought the wrong windshield and 2nd appointment the windshield they brought was broken. I wound up going with a local auto glass place and replaced it with ppg glass and it was fine.

My M3 came used with PPG glass, so I'm guessing it's been replaced at some point. Seems to work fine, but as many people say, it doesn't reduce the glare as well.
