AC compressor OEM Honda or OEM Subaru
I had one for seven years and 80k miles and the only problem I had was the A/C compressor. It was two years out of warranty and Honda went 50/50 with me on it. I drove the piss out of it, multiple trips to the redline every day, etc., and it was flawless mechanically and never burned oil or made any unhappy noises.
The only problem I've had with my recently acquired 2014 XV is that it still has the old version of the ac compressor, which isn't a cheap fix. AC still works intermittently, though, I just have to toggle it on and off every few minutes.
With the air conditioning shutting off after driving probably gonna need to replace the compressor. Issue with almost all subarus from 2015-2017. And the hesitation when going into reverse is normal, cvts tend to be delayed.
Took my 2017 Hatchback in two weeks ago, they replaced the compressor under warranty. AC lasted a week before blowing hot air again. Brought it back, now they say the evaporator needs to be replaced for $2100.
In my situation, at 3 years and 33k miles my AC compressor when out with a leak (very well known issue). It was not covered by the 3 year 30k warranty and Honda quoted me $3k+ to fix. I said no and went to a third-party repair place that fixed it for $1,700.
My 2016 wrx has an AC compressor fit for a small drawer or shitty wine fridge. In the summer I can have the AC in full blast for the whole ride and the car never cools off. :(
