Alternator OEM KIA or VALEO
I Had a 200k mile 2011 Soul and didn't have any major issues. 3k mile oil change, 3-5 yr battery change, some tire change, alternator replaced at 190k.
I installed the Valeo alternator that I got from FCP Euro and everything works now. The rebuilt Valeo was $200 less expensive than the Valeo that O’Reilly’s had in their computer but couldn’t order themselves. Also it was immaculate. It was a true rebuild and looked brand new in every way. It was $400.
I have a 2013 Soul !. Got it about 2 years ago. Very reliable, only had one issue and that was the alternator going out on me a few weeks ago. 182k miles on it. It doesn\u2019t consume oil at the same pace others mention. It does currently idle a little rough, but Not terribly.
A brand new Valeo (439317) alternator is $209 on Rockauto and they can be swapped in an hour or two.
I then ordered a Valeo from Bimmerworld which arrived seized. Finally ordered the same Valeo from RockAuto (for less money, too) which has been working great so far.
The alternator on my 2019 Forte failed.
I bought a used one with 20k miles on it, an new idler and tensioner pulley for around $350. Installed it all myself.
I thought Valeo was OEM? Cost me like $250 and was a perfect match.
mine is a Valeo alternator and though you are probably correct, this is the original alternator (22 years old) and it will probably get me through another few years at least.
Garage told me the next day I need a new alternator.
In the process of replacing the alternator..it was bad.
