Antifreeze Pentosin or VALVOLINE
I'm almost positive that VW uses Pentosin at the factory- I think the G12/G13 is the same stuff as the Pentofrost SF/Pentofrost E.
I use it in my Audi, VW and KTM Adventure without any problems.
There's Zerex (Valvoline) Asian car coolant (prediluted) that's made in 2 colors, blue and red, and it's supposed to be compatible
Call Valvoline (Zerex), which makes both green and Asian coolants. Most likely the green you bought is not like the green sold 20 years ago.
Use the specified coolant I would use the specified coolant for the vehicle in which you drive and always use distilled/deionized water foreign or domestic! The cuts down on deposits and electrolysis from corrosion from using tap/ground water and or the incorrect coolant.
From the manual: "The manufacturer recommends using MOPAR Antifreeze/Coolant 5 Year/100,000 Mile Formula HOAT (Hybrid Organic Additive Technology) or equivalent." Remember that the Routans are really Chryslers in disguise, so no need to go exotic brands on fluids. So you can try this: Valvoline Zerex ZXGO51 G-05 Antifreeze.
Do not, under any circumstances, mix generic auto store coolant with G12/13. If you are low, top it up with water - distilled preferably.
O'reilly around me carries the correct G12. Brand is Pentosin.
this is the proper coolant, and the best option out there....Ive used Pentosin G11 blue forever....
VW G12 and Pentosin G001200 are the same thing, both are pink/violet in color, phostphate, nitrite, and amine free. You should not mix cheapy prestone / o'reilys with the G12, it may turn the coolant to a sludgy substance and clog the system. Basically solidifies when mixed with other coolants. Also may build up rust or other small deposits through your cooling system.
