Battery Energizer or OEM KIA
I just ordered the energizer lithium fob battery, will see if it lasts longer than the regular energizer which in my case was 3 years
I didn't get long lasting power from "any brand name". Switching to Energizer or Panasonic did much better, like 2 years.
Now I stick to Energizer Max batteries, they claim a 10 year shelf life, and I have some that are 5 years old that are still near 100% state of charge, with no leaks.
I had an Energizer battery last 13 years in my ranger. Problem was when it came time to change it I couldn't find them anywhere.
Bought my Energizer back in 2013, haven’t let me down once :)
Learned that the battery in the Sorento was incorrect. Replaced with correct battery. All is right in the world.
my only option for a "proper" battery was a red top at $150.00. The next best thing was a group 47 Energizer, 590 CCA, 3 year full replacement, 7 year warranty from Sams Club for $65.00. I just dropped a load on the clutch and I don't plan on keeping the car for more than another 3 years. I only use synthetic oil so it cranks easier in the winter anyway. SO I got the energizer.
Mine went at 32K...just crapped out on me one morning. Luckily I work part-time at a Tire/Battery Garage. Put in an Energizer group size 47 (as stated above)
Well it's 30 months old and is still 6 months under the pro-rated warranty. Took it to a dealer, they replaced it and said it would be 226 dollars! I asked if they checked the warranty and the technician stepped away and came back 20 minutes later. "kia corporate declined the warranty on your battery".
Name brand but avoid ebay. I bought some energizers and panasonics from more than one (supposedly reputable) ebay seller a while back that didn't last more than a month or so.
