Battery OEM BMW or Duralast
low miles 10 yr old vehicle means its possible it has the original BMW factory installed battery. Some of those can last 10 years, I had a 2013 bmw 3 series and in 2022, I finally changed the original battery.

The OEM battery is AGM. If it was an OEM battery it wouldn't be lead acid, at least here in the US. Not sure what you're talking about. I installed mine three years ago and have had no issues despite winters that range from below 0 to summers that reach 100. Fahrenheit obviously.

I bought a Duralast Platinum H5 AGM. I have read several instances of Subaru of America reimbursement.

OEM batteries are made from fairy dust. I still have my original one in my E92, made in 2007. Def recommend getting an OEM battery.

Recently installed the Duralast Platinum. One week in and everything is working like a new battery should be.
Pros: working as expected, good performance
I drove over to Autozone and asked to borrow their battery/alternator scanner. CC amperage was way down, so just threw a new battery in there, and all is good. Ended up costing $230 even with tax, and $22 core charge credit for their Duralast with a 3 year warranty.

Don't do Duralast...they don't last.

I usually run the Duralasts just because AutoZone is everywhere and I usually get it replaced twice before the warranty runs out - Phoenix is brutal on batteries.
