Battery OEM BMW or OEM Volkswagen
I took a drive in my i4 a couple of weeks ago that estimated I'd get home with 4% battery. Guess what I rolled into the garage with..... 4% battery. These modern systems are pretty damn accurate.
I just replaced both batteries in my 2018 740iX. Was original battery (build date was Aug 2017) so actually lasted 8 years which was surprising given other problems I had with the car!
I still have the original BMW battery on my 2005 e46 325i , I used a battery tester on it and still say it’s good
Everyone likes to shit on BMW for being too complicated when it comes to having to register batteries with the car, but this is the result. Batteries in other cars die way more quickly.
I just changed my 2018 F36’s battery a few months ago. They really do last a long time.
2016 328i. Original battery still alive and kicking!
Not going to say yes or no,but get a battery check before buying it ???? Bmw warranty covers the battery up 6year or 100.000km,so no more battery warranty.. It has 6 modules to replace(not 1 battery) and last time i checked it was around 1000 per piece without labour. My 2020 330e with 98000km had this check and it was at 84% state of health,so this one might not be looking so great.. but get it checked anyway
I had 8 years on original battery on 2017 750i. I replaced it. It was barely holding 12V. Few functions were not working like stop/start and such.
On the day of delivery itself, the car wouldn\u2019t start. The dealership jump-started it and said there was a small battery issue, assuring me that it won\u2019t happen again. But from that day onwards, the vehicle has never been reliable.
My new BMW X3 was reliable.
It reliably would NOT start whenever the temperature dropped below -20C, even with a battery tender on it. The dealer couldn’t find anything wrong with it.
