Battery OEM Chevrolet or Energizer
Generally speaking the ownership cost is low. I have had a 2013 Volt since new. I hardly ever need the engine to run, so it has had 6 oil changes in 12 years. I have done no other engine maintenance. It still has its original traction battery and is still performing well.
At 10 years and 330,000 kms my Volt battery didn't even show degradation.
Mine is ten years old. It's a Chevy volt so it's a small battery and has over 3000 cycles and done 130000 km. It's at 87% original capacity.
I typically use what is shipped with the packaging. Most of my red dots are trijicon and they ship with energizer so I will continue to use it. I feel the companies do their own testing trail and error with battery life and usage at all power levels under all temperatures.
Energizer. Better QC than Duracell imho.
Duracell lasted 18 months on my RMR 3.25 Type 2 on auto setting, Energizer lasted 23 months on same setting!
Having ran both Duracell procell, and Energizer lithiums in RMR's, the energizers last 3+ years. I've gotten 2-2.5 years out of Duracell.
I drove a first gen Chevy Volt before I bought my 2022 MYP. I actually loved the Volt but it didn't have much range. The Chevy Volt had about 37 miles of range and my round trip to work and back was 34 miles. I drove that car on all electric 95% of the time.
Never left me stranded besides a dead battery.
Chevy Bolt. Then it was recalled for the battery fire issue.
