Battery OEM Mazda or YUASA
Second the Yuasa recommendation. Best battery I’ve had. Bought last one on Amazon. I like that the acid hasn’t been added yet so you know it’s fresh.
I fully trust Yuasa. They're just excellent quality.
Left one uncharged for a whole winter fired right up.
Stock OEM Mazda CX5 battery is weak AF. My 2019 battery died in Jan 2024 after coming back from Disney trip that lasted 7 days. Got one from Costco. Higher CCA for less than OEM from Mazda. Installed myself.
Just last week I had to change the original battery, because I was abroad for almost three months and the car had not been started even a single time. I left it outside and it's been constant -1/-5 Celsius here. So naturally the battery went.
My 12v battery died last winter and I decided to replace it with a Yuasa Silver battery after hearing people having problems with their 12v battery. It has a 5 year guarantee which gives a bit of peace of mind.
Yuasa are always good, but I've been a big fan of "Big Crank" / [Batterymart.com](http://Batterymart.com) batteries on most of my bikes.
I'm using a Yuasa with a 4 year warranty. The optima yellow is good but not worth 3 and half times the price for twice the life span of a normal battery unless you plan on deep discharging it a few times. I just think they're a little over priced for what you get.
162km at 42% battery is still kinda poor for 2025.
My 2025 CX-30 battery is already showing signs of dying but I bought the car in April but then had surgery in June and only went back to work today so it sat for long periods and I do leave my dash cam in parking mode. It might come back some after being driven more or it might not.
The OEM batteries are shit. It died around the two-year mark.
