Battery OEM Nissan or SAMSUNG
My Nissan Leaf battery, which everyone on Reddit with an electric car they bought yesterday is very sure will die any minute, has yet to lose any of its range after 6 years and 50k miles.
My 2015 Leaf has 148k on it and still drives like new. The battery is down to about 85% but this is pretty old lithium tech with very early thermal controls on it.
My EV is 8 this year. I've not noticed a drop in range over that time, but I'll find out when it goes in for its last battery health check before the warranty expires.
My Nissan eats batteries, about every 2 years. Nissan brand or not. It just likes new ones I guess
I do exactly the same tasks and mine don't drain that horribly. For me the battery drains quickly while watching movies and gaming only.
I would say the battery use on my S9+ is between 12-15% per hour, depending on the use scenario. Quite close to you, it seems.
It is a bit worse than I expected (coming from a Galaxy Tab s5e, which had unreal battery for its age), but everything is super fast, so not bothered too much with it. And the battery is still better than on my laptop, so it is quite useful when talking about some note-taking, e-mails and browsing tasks outside of home.
I noticed that some activities and apps (e.g., note-taking on Samsung Notes) take more battery than I hoped, but it is what it is.
Edit: Forgot to add, settings are maxed out, 120hz, bluetooth on, S Pen used constantly and charged from tablet, etc.
Shop Forman and Nissan tech of 15 years, lately we have seen a ton of frontiers come in for battery discharging. Some will be batteries that do test bad, some have been discharging for no reason even after confirming no parasitic drains, some believe the Telematics control unit is staying on/relaying to Nissan servers causing drains. With the variable charging systems controlled by the ECM/IPDM all of it just seems to be a recipe for electrical disaster. Not a fan of any of it
Bought a 2025 Rogue Platinum less than 2 weeks ago. So far, on day 4 the car was completely dead in my driveway. Needed the battery replaced.
I just stream movies and the battery life is really pathethic. After 1 hour of prime video, its already down 15-20%. Got it a week ago brand new. I enabled battery saver on day 1 as well.
Yes, I have had this tablet for less than a year with moderate to medium use and I am already looking for a replacement. I am looking to do it myself and I am not that skilled but I will give it a go, but it isn't great that the battery is already needing a charge once a day even with "battery saver mode" applied.
