I got a red top optima, put the subaru battery blanket on it. Good down to -10f.
Optima Red Top has been treating me well.
I like AGM batteries. Using optimas now, whenever these finally die I'll try another brand. 4 years in now and I can't notice any loss of capacity yet. They work amazing when it is like 0 degrees F, too.
If you do need one, optima is pretty good but expensive.????
I have a VR6 swap that Sal at S&P did for me and we used an Optima Red Top.
I've had an Optima battery for several years. Still cranks my G20 van as if were brand new.????
I always liked Optimas, but I bought mine 2-4 years ago. I heard the quality has gone down but haven’t checked myself.
Optima are junk now as well since they were bought out a few years ago.
Optima has been garbage for about a decade now, ever since they were bought out and production moved out of the country. Quality immediately took a huge dive.
I'd be more concerned about the Optima battery - they have been crap quality for years now. Probably better than VW OEM junk though.
