Battery OPTIMA or Duralast
IMO, the Optima Yellow top is your only option. It will last 5-10 Years.
You need this one, and it takes about 10 minutes to install. Just hop into the front trunk, unbolt the bar from the firewall that braces the battery -- iirc 13mm. Remove the tire inflator and the box (pulls right out), remove the other bolt, unscrew the two terminals (10mm probably), swap batteries. Done.
Absolutely not true. I use an Optima battery, works great. Have for a few years now since my 2nd garbage oem battery went out. Or was it the 3rd?
I installed an Optima yellow top in my 2023 OBW. Works fine!
Currently running a yellow Optima, 3 years and going strong. I don't recall what the OE battery was but it crapped out after 2 years in mild California weather.
Get the battery from the dealer. It lasts longer and has a 7 year warranty. The Optima Yellowtop died on me after 3 years.
Both Duralast Golds. Went with Neverstart AGM from wally world about 2 months ago.
Optima batteries are absolute trash for deep discharge use. Their quality is also not what it used to be. Anytime I see them in marine use, I swap them out for a proper AGM. Only thing they are decent at is starting applications in cars.
I bought a red top.. in like 3 weeks it wasn't taking a charge and it got returned. Never again
From my experiance with the optimal batteries you are better off with a Walmart battery and save money. I tried the optimal 2x. Both failed within a year. They were warranties but the replacements didn't last much longer.
