Battery OPTIMA or OEM Mercedes
I installed an Optima yellow top in my 2023 OBW. Works fine!
Historically, OEM Mercedes batteries are really good and last many years.
Currently running a yellow Optima, 3 years and going strong. I don't recall what the OE battery was but it crapped out after 2 years in mild California weather.
I had an older optima yellow top last about 10 years. I miss when that quality was available
On my 2014 Leaf SV I put in an Optima Yellowtop and it lasted over 7 years.
My wrx would be parked for long periods and I had optima yellow tops. I liked how hard it cranked, good for e85 cold starts. But wow, after the second one went flat I stop getting them. Bought some random battery and it\u2019s been holding charge no problem.
Optima seems to be the only brand of cylindrical Pb batteries for automotive use... pretty much every other automotive Pb battery is prismatic.
That's the first I've seen one fail this way.
One day my alternator went and killed the optima battery
DO NOT buy a red top Optima. They haven't been good or worth the price in like 15 yrs.
Those Optima Red, Yellow and Blue tops used to be the cat's ass 20 years ago, but quality has fallen off big time in recent years
