Good pad choice, I only use akebono pads personally. Looks like you have a toyota truck/suv. Same here, great pads.
For pads Akebono is best
I installed Akebono recently for my rears and so far wheels are staying pretty clean
I’ve run the Akebonos on my M235i for years with no issues. They seem to dust less than the factory ones, which is a bonus to me.
Back in May I swapped OEM pads for Ferodo DS2500 for my first track day in my GR86. Otherwise the car is bone stock. I noticed some slight pulsing of the steering wheel but only during hard braking (100 to 30mph). No brake fade that I noticed.
I use Akebono pads and coated Raybestos rotors. I changed my brakes around the time I got my 07 which was a year ago. I highly doubt you drive like you're street racing or drifting. My brakes still have a hell of a lot of life left in them.
Akebono makes very good pads.
Fairly okay with the ferodo ds2500, they're not made for longer than 20min sessions tho. They will fade and overheat.
I’m running DS2500 on my GTI and they are just not *quite* robust enough as I have progressed into the more advanced groups.
I purchased Ferodo DS2500 pads for autocross with the Brembos when my stock pads were shot. Lubed them up using CRC brake grease and even bought separate Girodisco backing plates to help with noise. It was absolutely terrible. Loud squealing all the time from 15mph to zero. Down hills, in traffic, or coming to a stop.
