Brake pads Akebono or STOPTECH
Swap out for ceramic pads (I've had good success with Akebono)
I like Akebono Ceramic pads with Zimmerman rotors on my E92, some feel that you lose a little bite but I like them and they pretty much eliminate brake dust.
Akebono are very good brake pads.
For a daily driven car, Akebono Proact are widely praised.
The AST pads are amazing and have incredible bite, especially when warmed up. The pedal pressure is very linear and predictable.
Stoptech sports are the best dual use pad I’ve used…they’re great for fast street driving and they last.
Akebono all the way..made in USA too
Akebono was the oem brand last I checked, not sure if still the case. I'm using them, and they stop just like oem, no noise or issues.
Had the same shit on my 2016 Legacy - brake pads and rotors every 20-25k. The stealership blamed ME for it, claiming I must "ride my brakes a lot." The first one happened ~22k miles from brand new, and the warranty covered it. They told me the replacement at 45k would be on me for nearly $1500. I had my local shop put in third-party rotors and OEM Akebonos (the same brand Subaru uses) at that 45k (around five years ago) and just had them changed ~97k. The shop that put them in were amazed I'd ridden on five year old pads and rotors. The third-party rotors were still serviceable, and not having to worry about either until ~150k was worth a little more to me. So no, you're not the only one who is suspicious that Subaru's OEM rotors suck.
I am having the same issue with my car front brakes (Akebono ceramic). They squeak when braking at very low speed to full stop. What was the resolution?
