Brake pads Bosch or TRW
I just put Zimmerman rotors and Bosch pads on my front end for ~$400. Worth every penny.
Check Rockauto. I replaced my brakes about 2 years ago with Dynamic Friction Geospec coated rotors and Bosch quiet cast pads. Still in great condition and stops on a dime.
I went with Bosch pads this time on OEM rotors.
I swear by Bosch quietcast. I’ve done cheap brands before but seem to squeak, fade, or make too much dust.
If you want comfort, use an OE supplier (TRW, Textar, pagid), if you want more performance at the cost of some added noise/dust, Ferodo/hawk/EBC
Bosch brake pads are good for me in my performance pack.
When I bought one of my cars used I immediately noticee the brakes felt horrible. As in they didnt feel like they wanted to stop. Its almost like when your slowing down and coming up on the car infront you expect your car to slow down faster than it is right now. So you oush down harder and harder and you get maybe 10% more braking. Yeah. Swapped those pads out for some street performance pads. Night and day difference. The brakes actually work now. Good initial bite and good modulation.
$500 for a wheel alignment and new Bosch pads on all 4 wheels. Car is a 2010 Cruze.
I get this too since I replaced pads and rotors (Bosch Quietcast pads/Zimmermann rotors). To me, it's more of a click than a clunk.
I recently replaced all the brake pads on my 2020 brz performance package, and it now squeals way more than before and has a noticeable clunk when pressing the brake pedal especially after reversing. I got Bosch Ceramic QuietCast pads from Rockauto, used ceramic lubricant on the back of the pads and all contact surfaces, and silicone lubricant on the pins. Once I apply a good amount of pressure to the brakes, they're very quiet for awhile but eventually start squealing again. Also I did do the bedding process and it didn't change anything, plus that wouldn't stop the clunking.
