My EBC reds say to use pads easy for 200 miles. Then do 4-5 hard stops from 50 mph
Others like EBC have specific procedures for heating and cooling the brakes to make them to the surface.
I put some EBC Yellow pads on for a track day and have been enjoying them on the street since.

I ran the EBC BlueStuff NDX. They are a great track pad but also didn’t feel like a track pad when driving on the street. They have decent cold bite and we’re very quiet for me.
I replaced my Mk6 stock pads with EBC RedStuff and love them (better feel under hard braking and practically no dust).
I bought EBC BlueStuff pads. Amazing on track and they don’t feel like track pads on the street.
I've used them on track in NASA HPDE3 group. They are pretty much equivalent to the Hawk HP+, for a lighter weight car they are fine for track days but for a heavy car you will need a more race oriented pad.
I tried them on the track years ago. Junk!
People on the internet always talk trash about ebc yellow, and I assumed it was just internet trash talk. This post is 100% accurate though, they absolutely disappeared on the track.
