Brake pads EBC or OEM Chevrolet
I installed EBC Yellowstuff pads and at first they squeeled every stop. 5K miles later it diminished substantially.
I personally installed your first picture and love them. They have noticeably more “initial bite” when braking and just quicker braking overall. If I remember correctly the EBC Red make less dust than stock.
I have EBC reds with stop tech slotted and drilled rotors.
I got EBC Yellow Stuff. Excellent performance. I haven’t experienced brake fade yet and I drive pretty damn spiritedly on my local backroads. The only con is there’s a shit ton of brake dust
Those look a lot like Ebc green pads with their special break in coating. Not cheap pads by any means
TBF it appears he tried to buy EBC Greenstuff which are great pads and got scammed by Amazon. The red paint is normally a friction enhancing paint to aid faster break in.
EBC pads have break-in compound that cuts the rotor to a clean slate so you can preform the correct breakin procedure, some 160kmh stops to heat up and bake the rotor and pad well
I had to replace my Bolt's pads because of using the friction brakes so little due to one-pedal driving, they rusted out. It's actually important to make a point of using your friction brakes every now and then.
I burned EBC Blues up in a single day, decided they weren't up to it.
I recently purchased EBC BSD rotors and EBC RedStuff. The front rotors ended up with an unknown lead time, so the rep reached out and suggested DBA 4000 T3s. I dropped the car off at the dealership as they'd agreed to cover the labor under warranty. I stopped by yesterday and was told they were having some issues with the install and that the pads didn't come with hardware... the tech was already left for the day I swung by again today. I was told that the holes in the pads were slightly larger than the pins, which allows for the pads to shift up and down. I took it home and confirmed everything is good in one direction, but when I pop it in reverse and hit the brakes, I hear a metal to metal click as the pads shift up and hit the caliper. The same is true when I put it back in drive and hit the brakes.
