Brake pads OEM Volvo or JURID
I’ve got a ‘21 XC60 T5 Inscription now with about 33k miles and absolutely love it. I’ve had a couple problems with the front, passenger side interior handle but they’ve been covered under the CPO ten year warranty. Wish it had full screen and wireless CarPlay but there are ways around it and replace the OEM brakes with better ones when it’s time as the Volvo ones suck as they wear quickly and unevenly. VERY happy with it.
New Jurid front brake pads and a new front brake pad wear sensor April 2025.
I’ve had these Jurid pads on my 2019 S for about four months now and they’ve been great so far.
For pads I've used Jurid White successfully in the past, they produce a lot less dust than the OE.
Pads I went with Jurid as they’re oem and wanted strong initial bite. The Jurids nock when I reverse, apply brake, shift to drive and apply again. It’s very annoying. My original BMW OEM pads didn’t do this.
2021 Volvo xc40, $900 for front brake pads, rotors, cleaning and labor.
Volvo uses a softer compound. I think they call them comfort brakes or something? I would always get about 40k miles out of my pads on my XC90. I switched to an Acura MDX and got 140k miles out of my pads. Volvo brakes work really well but I’ve never had a set last really long time.
Front brake pads are worn. I have a new set of Jurid OEM pads that will come with the car.
Volvos seem to eat brakes. My xc60 is horrible on brakes.
Last time it went for a service I was advised rear brake pads are 90% worn and needed changing (they had fitted new rear brake pads 8 months previously).
