OEM Hyundai Brake pads

I know this post is old but my 2019 Elantra SEL just hit 80k miles with no issues, and I bought it new. Normal oil changes, tires changed around 40-50k, and am doing a brake job myself this weekend (Most miles are highway miles, but I am still surprised how long the pads and rotors lasted).

Pros: long lasting pads, rotors
Cons: high beams don't work
Vehicle: Hyundai Elantra
Mileage: 128747 km

OEM Volvo Brake pads

Who the hell told you the C30 is unreliable. My mechanic started his own shop after working for the big regional volvo dealership for 15 years. He told me that of all the Volvos he ever worked on the C30 stood out significantly as being the most reliable. It was built on the P2 chassis, but since it came out years after the first P2 chassis cars, it was able to have a lot of significant improvements/upgrades/fixes over the other, older P2 cars. He told me that over time the mechanics would get so frustrated whenever a C30 came in, because every single time all it would need was a basic oil change or brake pad replacement, never any major work.

Pros: most reliable, basic maintenance
Cons: basic oil change
Vehicle: Volvo C30

Did the brakes myself on my elantra and spent about $60. Brakes are super easy and massively overcharged by dealers.

Pros: super easy, inexpensive
Cons: dealers overcharge
Vehicle: Hyundai Elantra

OEM Volvo Brake pads

My only problem with it is the turning radius. The brakes aren't what they should be IMO for triple digit speeds but it is rare I drove at such speed being located in the USA.

Pros: reasonable maintenance costs
Cons: poor turning radius
Vehicle: Volvo S60

OEM Hyundai Brake pads

Had to take out a loan fr 3k for brake pads and labour to put them on. From a huge well known dealership. Local mechanic did the same thing for around 300 dollars a year later when they failed.

Pros: cheaper local mechanic
Cons: expensive dealership service
Vehicle: Hyundai
