Brake pads POWER STOP or OEM Volvo
New power stop ceramic z17 front brake pads
I also swapped out the pads and rotors with Powerstop Z36 Truck and Tow carbon fiber ceramic pads and drilled and slotted rotors. They turned out to be fantastic, especially with towing in the mountains and the Nebraska Sandhills. Highly recommend!
I picked up some Power Stop pads (Z23915B and Z231095) back in 2016 and they are still going strong. I wouldnt say they are "low dust", but they do seem less than OEM. They seemed to be a bit more bite than my OEMs.
I got Powerstop for my 2015 Sequoia and absolutely love them. Can’t recommend them enough.
I have used powerstops basic kit on Amazon for years now and had no problems. They say they're a "street upgrade" but they're just good quality pads and rotors.
I did power stop drilled slotted with carbon ceramic pads but I got the labor for a good deal , or if your handy they Work great and look nice .
My mk5 rabbit is on its 4th set of Powerstop pads in the rear since I swapped all four corners to their pads and rotors. The fronts will probably be changed this coming summer. They still have plenty of meat on them.
Powerstop z23, get them from Rockauto.
I had the same problem with my 2024 XC90 and only driven it 3k miles in one year. The dealer replaced the brakes under warranty and the new pads are better. Honestly I think the brakes on such a heavy SUV underperform. Don’t believe the dealer, they said the same to me. Then I held my ground and said that this is a safety issue and not normal!
Just had new brakes put on my Volvo XC90 a few weeks ago (400 miles ago). They make a loud low pitch squeak when braking lightly. It’s terrible. These were installed by my Volvo dealer. Dealer says that’s just how it is. But I can’t imagine someone buying a new car with new brakes and having to deal with the same thing. Response from the dealer was “that’s just how it is”. Same response I got when I raised concerns about the cabin noise and weak AC.
