Brake pads R1 Concepts or OEM Honda
I have R1 on now all around and no issues since.
Running the R1 concept with ceramic pads now and have no issues. They bite a lot better then the stock setup I had on it before.
I bought the r1 concept rotors+brake pads. They look great and have lasted for about a year no issue at all. Good quality
Impressively even wear. Got every bit of life out of that set.
I have R1 Concepts on my daily R, I was fortunate to get them when they were on sale through their e-bay store. They work very well on a daily and the brake dust is very low. I really like them.
I was also looking at these. The price looks great!
I switched over to R1 Concepts rotors and ceramic pads and haven't had to clean brake dust since ????????
New rotors and pads without breaking in at all, just normal driving as soon as changed. Pads lasted 30.000km ish, while rotors wrapped at about 40.000km ish (pads replaced at 30k with same R1 concepts). Brake feel and performance was OK, but much worse than when broken in. Light squeal at about 15.000km and onwards. New rotors and pads following break in procedure, 10 stops from 90km/h (55mph aprox), never coming to a complete stop, then driving 30 minutes never coming to a complete stop, rolling to a stop on neutral and waiting another 30 minutes. Pads lasted about 40.000km ish, rotors lasted 80.000km ish, pads replaced at 40.000km with same R1 concepts ceramic.
Seeing what looks like a Prelude wheel, why not just get the OEM honda brake pads? They are acceptable for most daily use, and the brake dust isn't to terrible to deal with
If there's a sore point on the Si, it's the brakes. It's that initial application is far too touchy, making smooth heel-and-toeing difficult especially when only light brake application is required. That abruptness proves annoying even in hard use, and the slightly spongy pedal feel doesn't help matters.
