STOPTECH Brake pads

For mixed street and track use, I haven’t found a better pad than Stoptech 309. Lots of dust, but no noise on the street and they will take an absolute beating on track (for a street pad). Great modulation at mid temps, low and high temps are acceptable.

Pros: great modulation, acceptable temps
Cons: lots of dust

STOPTECH Brake pads

Stoptech street performance (I believe renamed to Stoptech sport) has always been my go-to for spirited driving and track day use in a miata. In faster heavier cars, I use carbotechs for track days, but that's just overkill for a miata.

Pros: good for spirited driving
Vehicle: Mazda 5

STOPTECH Brake pads

If you are dead set on not getting some Napa golds or whatever grab some Stoptech Steet pads. They are dusty as hell and wear pretty quick not in stop and go city traffic. I live in the sticks so lots of highway and running the stoptech steets on my Gx sedan they dust up bad and I swap them every 35k~. I do have the sport brake kit on it but I don't see the base calipers making much difference on dust and wear.

Cons: dusty, quick wear
Vehicle: Infiniti G
Mileage: 35000 km

OEM Toyota Brake pads

This happened to my Gen2. I gave it to some guy to change pads and these lights came out after. I think he didn't do it properly and air entered into the line. I then took it to a local Toyota dealership where they fixed it. (I don't recall what they did exactly, maybe flush and replaced the break fluid). I was fearing it was the actuator, which as other have posted, is very expensive on this Prius. I had to drive very slow and careful, because I had no power in the brakes, so they were hard and slow. No ABS. No regen either.

Pros: fixed by dealership
Cons: no brake power, hard brakes
