Brake pads Textar or POWER STOP
I’m loving my powers too ceramic pads… the reduction in break dust is awesome
I’m happy with my PowerStops
For rotors just get fully coated blanks on RockAuto. For pads, I’ve had really good results with the PowerStop Z23 pads. Very affordable, zero brake dust, and they’ll hold up to everything except an actual track day. I’ve also had Redstuff pads on my previous car, and feel like these are equivalent.
I originally installed the powerstops in 2018 they have lasted around 93k miles.
They have great bite, are quiet, and have very little dust. I do wear my pads out faster than most, but that's because 28 miles of my 52 mile round trip commute are on mountain roads and I do drive pretty hard. So far, I have not warped the rotors(did that with other stock style rotors).
Personally I use power stop pads and rotors even beyond Mazdas all my cars have power stop brake components.
I beat the hell out of some OE Textars in 110+ heat at Buttonwillow and they held up admirably. You don’t need anything more for the street.
Powerstop are great brakes. Been using them since they first came out. Rotors don't rust and practically no brake dust. On top of the better braking performance they give you, and the price is right.
In my experience, I went like 70k miles on the factory brakes. I then went with various rock auto/duralast/car quest rotors and pads over the years and they all sucked longevity wise. Maybe half the life. Warped quickly, reduced bite sometimes
Ford brake pads have consistently sucked ass, they stained up the wheels on my focus st and just destroy rotors and make a huge mess in general. I switched to power stop ceramics and slotted rotors, and they have lasted years on with no visible signs of wear on the rotors, and a pad slap on the rear set once.
