Control arm MOOG or Tesla
Get Moog or Mevotech Supreme and install them correctly - torque to spec with the LCA under load - and they're gonna last a good long time.
As a former analyst for an auto parts distributor... Moog was the most popular and better quality for control arms that we sold across the country. AC Delco was 2nd...
Control arms Moog all day, only the Moog control arms made in Germany. If they are made anywhere else they are trash! Moog control arms made in Germany I cannot vouch enough for them!
I went with MOOG for the lower control arms on my E46. Seemed like really decent quality. I want to say they were made in Turkey, and half the price of Genuine.
I just had an issue with creaking control arms. Tesla warrantied the labor and changed $250 for the parts.
I have a July 2018 Model 3 with 95,000 miles. Had one upper control arm replaced under warranty at 36,000 miles. I had to pay $400 to replace the other one at 53,200 miles.
Better than the MOOG control arm that has a squeaky bushing
My 2023 YLR has premature cracking on the front driver-side control arm. I’ve scheduled an inspection, hopefully it’ll be covered under warranty and won’t cost anything out of pocket.
I have 51,900 miles on my car and it just started to squeak like a 1970's car when I turn the wheel- REALLY LOUD. So I've read all the articles and I know this is a known issue for control arms...
I have a Model3 RWD, the heavy batteries cause the arms to crack, just by weight alone with road conditions in southern Cali. Both of my arms on both sides were denied by one service center. However, a month later, I took it to a different service center and they processed all of it under warranty.
