CVT transmission OEM Honda or OEM Nissan
I got a 2013 Altima... it’s at 170k miles and never had any mechanical issues. It’s all anecdotal but my experience was good
Honda cvts pretty reliable. My wife’s accord shifts so smooth compared to the 6 speed auto in my Tacoma.
I own a Honda CVT, with these if you change the fluid every 30,000 you should be good as long as you don't constantly do jackrabbit starts / streetlight race.
Had a Rogue in the family that we got rid of. Don’t want to deal with the crap CVT. Love how they advertised them as sealed units that lasted the life of the vehicle without maintenance. You can hardly even get a shop to change transmission fluid on them. I dunno maybe they would last longer with regular fluid changes. After that rogue, I’m staying the hell away from Nissan. What a rattle trap full of issues.
My 2018 rogue with 75k miles just shit the bed with the cvt transmission. Thank god they’re going to replace it for free or else it would’ve costed $6300 for that bs up here in Long Island.
CVT feels underpowered at times (ramdam mo yung parang rubber band).
that whiny CVT noise.
As hard as I've tried I really just don't like the CVT at all. It's very unrefined and herky-jerky under hard acceleration and it reminds me of what it's like to drive a power boat. Just two gears...one forward and one backward. It does have simulated gear shifts (it's supposed to mimic a 7-speed transmission) but at the end of the day I just don't like it. This was my first AND LAST car with a CVT.
