CVT transmission OEM Nissan or OEM Toyota
The eCVT is much smoother.
All I know is my CVT transmission nissan altima lasted a quarter of a million miles, I bought it at 165k miles never did anything to it besides brakes & rotors, oil changes, 1 alternator, 1 radiator & hella Tires tbh.
I drive a 2013 Altima 3.5 SV. Original CVT transmission. Hasn't even had a fluid change. Working well still at 158,000 miles.
I liked the tuning of the CVT better than the one in my wife's Kia, it was relatively headache-free.
Wife has a 2016 or 17 versa sv. Nearing 100k miles. We've changed the cvt fluid twice and it still functions. That being said I don't trust it. You can feel the transmission get hot in stop and go traffic. It starts to lurch and feels like drivetrain lash. I would bet money that the transmission doesn't make it to 200k even with 2-3 more expensive oem fluid changes.
2009 Nissan Murano…. CVT transmission sucked asscakes. Endless suspension issues Rack and Pinion leaks 4 wheel drive issues
My 2019 nissan versa cvt transmission died on me at 123000 miles, luckily I had 3000 dollars saved so I could get a new trsnsmission. But I am still skeptical of the transmission
My Nissan versa note CVT just started having issues at 104K km. I have had it serviced regularly and I drive it pretty gently but it gets stuck and when I am accelerating up to 50 km/hr the rpms go up to 4500. The only thing that resets it is shifting into N and then back to D. I am pretty frustrated though. I can’t sell it like that and Changing the trannie would cost more than the car is worth.
My CVT just died on my 2013 versa, 5k+ replacement. My ODO was 140485. No other issues other than my suspension. I'm just gonna sell it as junk. I even asked them if I could get a CVT fluid change a while back but they said it was unnecessary (Future Nissan Folsom Dealership). Now I've got a dead car.
My 2016 Altima (purchased brand new) had the CVT transmission begin showing signs of degradation at 48,000 miles. And this was with a drain and fill at 30,000 miles. Thankfully the warranty covered a replacement.
