Engine oil AMSOIL or OEM Volkswagen
Biggest thing I see here is the 400 ppm increase in zinc for amsoil, which will keep the cam happy.
5K with AMSOIL Signature Series. Any family daily gets the same mileage and quality oil. Yes it’ll cost me a few hundred more over the lifetime of the vehicle, but is worth the peace of mind that if it’s not the best oil you can buy, it’s damn close.
If you really want to make the engine last, use amsoil, i swear by it. Its more expensive but the quality shows, its got longevity like no other oil. Been using it for almost 2 decades and my cars pur like kittens.
I switched to the most expensive 5W30 fully synthetic engine oil I could afford, which was priced almost the same as your Nasa 5W30 fully synthetic oil but performs way better. I noticed better fuel consumption, improved throttle response, and a smoother, quieter engine.
The engine oil I use is Amsoil 5W30 Extended Life Fully Synthetic, which I usually get for around RM220 to RM250. I know it's pricey, but in the long run, because of the additives in the oil, your engine lifespan would be longer compared to using normal semi-synthetic or mineral oil.
Amsoil 10w-30 metric
If you are using VW original oil then stick to it and the service interval. 15 years 229,000km later mine is going strong. I did mess up by doing service at 15k km all these years. Sticking to 12k is best. Instead try iftex system D. Makes a very noticeable difference. More important I feel is changing the air filter more often. And compulsorily changing diesel filter every year.
amsoil is so much better
I like using Amsoil because its very good at withstanding heat.
AmsOil 10w30 for turbo engines... haven't had any issues yet. Still consumes it though.
Absolutely Liqumoly!
Please never put Amsoil in a Volkswagen they under rate their viscosity/ wt ratings and the only time I used their oil I ended up spinning a rod bearing in my first R32
