Engine oil Castrol or Lucas
we run castrol edge in our ‘04 FXT.
My rotary expert in north Texas recommended that I use 10-30 conventional oil. I personally prefer Castrol GTX
I use Castrol Synthetic 10w-30 on mine.
It’s thicker oil, so I feel like it gives the engine better protection. With 272k miles on it, I figured why not.
I’ve been running Castrol GTX 10w30 conventional in my 9000 Aero. Brought it to a Saab specialist and he recommended it. Need to have the valve seals redone and the oil is thick enough that it doesn’t get past the seals and no smoke. No issues running it. I change it every 3 months regardless of how far I’ve driven.
Good results with Castrol Edge Euro full synthetic. No issues. 138,000 miles, no oil consumption or smoke.
Castrol is great option if it is not fake, also make sure to change oil every 10000km (6200 miles). Those engines are bulletproof, should cause no issues
Castrol Edge 5w-30 Full Synthetic Euro Car. It carries the BMW Longlife 01 cert.
I recently did my first track day on a day with 105 degrees temps. I went with Castrol Edge 5w-30 and the car did amazing.
Currently using Castrol Edge 5w-40 fully synthetic, previously was using Estremo Heatpro 5w-40 FS, differences is so minimal to the point where you just neglect and forget about it....
Smoothness the same, silky smooth.
Car feels slightly like just slightly lighter on pickup with Castrol.
Castrol edge is junk.
